  Composer, Writer, Producer, Pianist, Songwriter and Singer 

  Alexa Babakhanian has been writing and singing songs since the age of 3.

"Music chose me! Who am I to know what's good or bad? It's my job to honor my ideas and observations by bringing them to life and getting them out there. Hopefully I have something to say that others want to hear."

  She came to Juilliard by way of Urbana Il. on scholarship and now and creates in Nashville, Spain and NYC.

 

  She is at home performing at The Bluebird Cafe, The Basement, Lincoln Center, Dorothy Chandlar Pavillion, Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Groove Cafe, The Bitter End, Bowery Electric, and numerous clubs and concert halls nationwide, in Europe and South America. She has been featured on TV, Radio and in film.

  Alexa has collaborated with members of The New York Philharmonic, Andrea Zonn (James Taylor), and performed at The Blue Note with Roberta Flack scatting and singing a duet version of "Killing Me Softly" at Flack's invitation. Carly Simon and Valerie Simpson have taken notice of her talent as well, forming a camaraderie and mentorship. Paul Williams, revered songwriter and president of ASCAP  encouraged her to showcase at The Basement in Nashville and reacted to her talent:

  "I love your voice and writing-your lyrics are fresh, real and moving.

Well done. To quote you in one of your songs "Act as if and it will be!"

  She was selected and featured on WNET's New York Stories performing her music live. Her performance of her song "Crazy" was featured in the film "Love And Hip Hop." Her performance of the original song "Scarlet Rose" featured on TV, has gone viral on multiple sites with well over a million views. Her song "In The Garden" was the most requested song on WNYC, where she is a frequent guest. She is a regular on WKCR and has been featured many times on Lynn Crystal's program Carnival Of Song on WFDU.

  Alexa has recently been invited to perform for The US Ambassador to Spain  in Madrid for The Minister Of Culture. Her Dramatic Song Cycle "The Women Of Don Quixote"  was recently performed at Lincoln Center and received rounds of standing ovations to critical acclaim. She has expanded it into an Opera. 

  Her song "A Million Strong" was the official song for The Women's March On Washington website Why We March.

  Alexa records in Nashville at the Blackbird Studios as well as in NYC with acclaimed  and grammy winning collaborator, Bart Migal (Bjork, Sony CBS) and in Spain at Curvapolar in Granada with her band of musicians there.

  Her duo Gunnar And Jane with Eric Toast of PSSR has garnered fans, and acclaim:
